The Seymour household was a large family which owned a thriving business involved with the fishing industry.
Her father was not one of the more prominent members of the family and he made a modest living by overseeing fishing boats. He was out fishing when one day the boat as which he travelled on was caught up a turbulent storm. The boat was old and frail and the weather quickly escalated to horrific levels. Just when the crew was sure that the boat would capsize, a miracle occurred. The storm resided as just quickly as it began.
That night the man had a vivid dream depicting a beautiful woman who arose from the sea. Nine months later, a baby in a golden cradle arrived on his doorstep. The child's alikeness to the man was unmistakable. He was the father to this child. The rest of the Seymour household spurned the new father, believing the child, Meredith, to be a result of a one night stand or something of the like.
Thus Meredith was raised in a small house, with little to no connection with her extended family. However, her father made up for it with his unconditional love. Unknown to most, Meredith's father was a mortal with the gift of Sight. While he raised Meredith in the mortal world, he always made frequent holiday trips into Lemuria for his daughter.
Now at the age of 18, Meredith has departed her home and found residence in Neo Athens and attends the Conservatorium of Artistic Endeavors.
