You are able to purchase additional ability slots and items at the Checkout. The extent of your abilities are limited by your Tier. You are allowed purchase items with a higher Tier than your own.
Abilities:
Demigod abilities are magical powers that must be similar to (but doesn't have to be exactly the same as) your non-mortal parent.
Monster abilities must be related to their race.
Mortals cannot start out with abilities.
Items:
Magical items are something representative of your character. It can be anything: heirlooms, weapons, vehicles, companions etc. These are almost always found in your character's possession.
Magical items follow the same Tier system as abilities. Your item's ability cannot exceed its Tier. i.e. a Tier 1 magical sword would only be able to make paper cuts.
If the staff feel like your item/ability is too overpowered, they will step in.
